Terms and conditions for recruitment
Please note that special mobility rules apply to the appointment of researchers in the network: At the time of selection by the host organisation, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment. Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account.
The recruited researchers will be employed with a reference monthly living allowance of about 36.700 €/year for Early stage reserachers (ESR) and 56.400 €/year for Experienced researchers (ER). These figures will be corrected by factors depending on the employment country according to theEuropean Commission guidelines for this framework.
Early-Stage Researchers are those who are, at the time of selection by the host institution, in the first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the host country, irrespective of whether or not a doctorate is envisaged.
Experienced researchers must, at the time of selection by the host organisation either be in possession of a doc-toral degree, irrespective of the time taken to acquire it, or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience. In both cases, they should have less than 5 years of full-time equivalent research experience. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which formally entitles them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided, irrespective of whether or not a doctorate was envisaged.
